For a lot of people, the holidays are meant for warm get-togethers with friends and family which usually includes food, drinks, parties, gifts, well-wishing and every now-and-then—a kiss under the mistletoe. However, not everyone is so lucky to experience the holiday joy, especially children who are in foster care. On any given day, there are nearly 428,000 children in foster care in the United States. With that in mind, InfinityHR threw a holiday toy drive supporting AZ Helping Hands—a non-profit organization that helps ease the burden of foster families by providing them with basic necessities such as beds, cribs, clothing, diapers, books and more.
This year, InfinityHR rose to the occasion and donated 149 toys for the cause. Anna Taylor, InfinityHR’s Business Manager, was tasked with setting up the drive for around 50 employees. When asked how she thought the toy drive went, she replied, “It was a great success. The energy and buzz around the office from everyone, while we took in donations, was fantastic—especially as the bins began to overflow from their generosity.”
While InfinityHR is proud of the overall participation and charity its employees demonstrated, they are aware that there is much more to be done socially overall to help. As long as people, businesses and communities continue to support efforts in helping children, the less fortunate and underprivileged —the pieces for a better world will fall in place.
